Domain names are mainly used as names for websites. In short, instead of having to type each website's IP into our browsers, domain names give websites their own good looking name that can be easily memorized and used by everyone. For example, to access our website, all you need to enter into your browser is hotboxstudio.co.ug, instead of a string of random numbers like 31.200.23.1. They can have multiple different extensions, such as .com, .net, .org. Domain Name registrations are usually not free and a registration and renewal fee is required for the domain.

To create email accounts on your domain simply navigate to "Email Accounts" from the dashboard menu and our user friendly control panel will guide you through the steps.
We do not reveal our client details (like website URLs, emails, etc.) to 3rd parties due to our privacy policy.

The most common reasons for a hacked (defaced) website include:
- Outdated web application. Every popular web application (Joomla, WordPress, PhpBB...) has had security problems and that's why you have to use always the latest version.
- Outdated web application extension. If you have installed any third party extensions, you have to keep them up-to-date just as you keep your main web application. Very often users neglect this fact and outdated extensions become easily exploited by intruders.
- Weak user/administrator passwords. You must ensure that all users have strong passwords, especially the admin and the ones who can create content to your site.
- Infected local computer - some computer viruses/worms are known to steal FTP logins and after that add malicious code to web files. For this reason make sure to have an updated antivirus software and scan your computer for viruses regularly.
If your account was hacked, please be sure it's not related to server security. Our servers have advanced security modules (such as Apache mod_security, Suhosin PHP hardening, PHP open_basedir protection and others) and no more accounts were hacked on the same server, which would most likely show, that the issue would lie in your website.
In order to configure your FTP client, you'll need to download and install an FTP client such as:

WinSCP
After installing an FTP client, please head to our control panel the navigate to Files manager , you will find all of the necessary credentials to log in to your FTP client.
We do not have any file type or file size limits when uploading via FTP. If you upload file using PHP (instead of FTP), max file size limit is 128 MB for Single and Premium and 256 MB for Business plan users. Also, we have a file size limit of 32MB when uploading files via the file manager in control panel. Currently, these limits can not be increased anymore.
If your file is very large, it might be that web-based upload could fail, so we strongly suggest uploading big files with an FTP client.

If you have a backup of your website on your computer, use the 'Import Website' tool on the control panel and upload that archive. All the files will be restored to the public_html folder within a few minutes!
You can also extract this archive on your computer and then manually upload these files by File Manager or by using FileZilla FTP client.
If you do not have a backup, no worries, contact our support staff and we will check for your backup on our servers! :)
